With more than 30 million Americans taking statins we may have an epidemic coming up--as a matter of fact, we have already seen lot of individuals with health issues that arise from these drugs. In a way, experiment is taking place on millions of lives.
This matter was brought to attention over 10 years ago. Research showed that statins could promote the growth of new blood vessels. Even though, this may prevent heart attacks and other issues with heart disease, it may very well, promote cancer as it increases the growth of blood vessels in cancerous tumors. Yet, within the similar time frame, they were coming out with other studies that stated just the opposite. Interesting phenomenon--perhaps, it was to make these statin drugs look good!

In an essence, time is the teacher of them all--now we are faced with all these health issues and cancers and will continue to see what else may take place in the future--because we have millions of people who have been placed on statin drugs.

More History Behind Statins Which Dates Back to 1996

Back in 1996 Journal of the American Medical Association revealed a study that was done on statin drugs. It was stated as follows:

  • All members of the two most popular classes of lipid lowering drugs, statins and fibrates, cause cancer in rodents, in some cases at levels of animal exposure close to those prescribed to humans.
  • Longer term clinical trial during the next several decades to determine whether cholesterol lowering drugs cause cancer in humans.
  • At this time, from the results of the experiments on animals and humans, it suggests that lipid lowering drug treatment, especially with the fibrates and statins, should be avoided except in patients at a high short-term risk of coronary heart disease.

As we can see, these warnings were not paid attention to but rather ignored. We have seen public officials promoting such drugs and profiting. Again, we come to a conclusion that each one individual need to assume responsibility for their own health and wellbeing. Yes, it is hard to go against your typical commercialized allopathic practitioner--but facts are obvious. Doctors are educated by pharmaceutical reps and FDA approvals, which by now, has been made clear that does not mean much at all. They seem to go with whatever would make more financial sense for them and pass it along to the allopathic doctors to prescribe. While for short term usage they may be all right, but for long term--they should not be consumed.

Statins Raise Risk of Heart Disease

Statins may even increase your risk of heart disease. The very thing that they perscribe it for. There are so many different health issues that has been discussed in my previous articles, that has been shown of statins or cholesterol lowering drugs. They not only reduce cholesterol, but they deplete the body of Coenzyme Q10, which is one of the most important enzymes in each cell, especially in the heart cells, which they are mostly located at. In addition, statins have been shown to be linked to other health issues such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Degenerative muscle condition or rhabdomyolysis
  • Muscle pains and problems
  • Pancreases dysfunction
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Suppression of immune system
  • Anemia
  • Increase risk of food borne illness
  • Sexual erectile dysfunction
  • Cataracts
  • Cognitive impairment
  • Memory loss

Bottom line:

As we can see, statins and or cholesterol lowering drugs have been creating lots of health issues in human kind. To believe that taking such drug safe for anyone in long term is inaccurate--as even the studies have suggested so. It is best to consult with a natural health practitioner and try to take a more natural approach in dealing with cholesterol or heart disease issues. Ideally, it would be best to work with both types of doctors (MD and NHD) to help with such issues. The testing tools that allopathic medicine provides are great to stay on top of what is going on with one's health. But it is important that you, as an individual, will understand what type of treatment it is being chosen for you and what would the consequences be. After all, it is all about your health, your life and your wellbeing. You need to be involved.
There are many people with cholesterol and heart disease issues that have been helped without pharmaceutical drugs, but rather natural herbs, supplements and diet. What is in nature has been proven to have more familiarity to our body than drugs that are manmade in laboratory. Mix of synthetic chemicals are not meant for human body to assimulate, thus it creates all sorts of issues
